Some Tips on Good Health

There are two main factors contributing to good health and it is difficult to say which is the more important of the two as that seems to depend on the person. Those gaining the benefit of both have a far better quality of life than those who do not.

The first one is dependent on the condition of the body, i.e., how clean the body is on the inside. If one is eating food that is nourishing and full of vitality such as raw fruit, vegetables, nuts and seeds, the body will respond by cleaning and repairing itself.

However, if the body is being fed on substances that are depleted in enzymes, vitamins, minerals, (cooked and processed foods, white bread, etc.), it is not receiving the fuel it is designed to use. These substances also cause a toxic build-up in the intestines and colon (the average person has approximately 5 kg of waste materials sticking to the colon wall) preventing absorption of nutrients from food passing through. As if this were not bad enough, these substances cause the blood levels to become acid and, if the body did not quickly balance that acidity with alkaline by using calcium from the bones and teeth, we would die.

Germs, viruses, disease all thrive best in a body that is acid. Acne and Arthritis are not the only diseases that can be helped enormously by a change of diet. Remember, the ‘foods’ of today are mostly not produced for their nutritional value. The primary interest of the producer is to make money, not care for the health of the consumer.

Cattle are pumped with all sorts of chemicals to fatten them up, vaccinations against bovine diseases, antibiotics, etc., not to mention the amount of adrenaline charging through the animal as it is being transported from the farm to the abattoir and then waiting its turn to be slaughtered. Up until relatively recent years the meat one ate was largely free of these chemicals and adrenaline and one cannot help but take a look at the high incidence of cancer nowadays.

The second factor that good health is dependent on is the emotions. When the mind is sad, angry, guilty or depressed, the body becomes affected. If one is experiencing negative emotions, the body produces acid, weakening the body and making it fertile ground for disease. Arthritis sufferers are often people who are subject to constant criticism whether from an outside source or from their own minds.

Just think of how the body responds to the touch of a loved one, joyous music or an object or person of beauty. The pleasure one feels filters right through the cells of the body.

To keep the mind focused on the positive may not always be easy – but it is worth while. If you are having trouble with forgiveness, seek help. If anger, jealousy, resentment or fears are infringing on your peace of mind, seek help. Raw egg or onion can deplete the biotin in your intestines, causing depression. Sugar in many people brings on negative emotions, depression being one of them. Aggression is another.

Treat yourself kindly, as you would a dear friend. Do not be swayed by advertising, rather rely on your own sense of what your body needs. Drink plenty of water. Get sunshine on your skin, preferably early morning sun. When in a hot climate, listen to your body, jumping in a pool to cool off in order to take the sun some more is not the sensible thing to do. Remove glasses and contact lenses for about half an hour per day while outside in the sun. This triggers the pineal gland to produce a neuro-transmitter called serotonin and this gives us a feeling of well-being!
